2 Kings 20:1-6

• 1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
• 2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,
• 3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
• 4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that

the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

• 5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith

the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

• 6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

2 Chr 32:24

24 In those days Hezekiah was sick to the death, and prayed unto the LORD: and he spoke unto him, and he gave him a sign.

Is 38:1-5

• In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
• Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,

• Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,
• Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
• 10 I said, “In the prime of my life

must I go through the gates of death

and be robbed of the rest of my years?”

11 I said, “I will not again see the LORD himself in the land of the living;

no longer will I look on my fellow man,

or be with those who now dwell in this world.

12 Like a shepherd’s tent my house

has been pulled down and taken from me.

Like a weaver I have rolled up my life, and he has cut me off from the loom; day and night you made an end of me.

13 I waited patiently till dawn,

but like a lion he broke all my bones;

day and night you made an end of me.

• 14 I cried like a swift or thrush,

I moaned like a mourning dove.

My eyes grew weak as I looked to the heavens.

I am being threatened; Lord, come to my aid!”

• 15 But what can I say?

He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this.

I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish of my soul.

16 Lord, by such things people live;

and my spirit finds life in them too.

You restored me to health and let me live.

17 Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish.

In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction;

you have put all my sins

behind your back.

Causes of Hezekiah’s illness

Hezekiah's dangerous illness was caused by the discord between him and Isaiah, each of whom desired that the other should pay him the first visit. In order to reconcile them God struck Hezekiah with a malady and ordered Isaiah to visit the sick king. Isaiah told the latter that he would die, and that his soul also would perish because he had not married and had thus neglected the commandment to perpetuate the human species. Hezekiah did not despair, however, holding to the principle that one must always have recourse to prayer. He finally married Isaiah's daughter, who bore him Manasseh (Ber. 10a). However, in Gen. R. lxv. 4, as quoted in Yalḳ., II Kings, 243, it is said that Hezekiah prayed for illness and for recovery in order that he might be warned and be able to repent of his sins. He was thus the first who recovered from illness. But in his prayer he was rather arrogant, praising himself; and this resulted in the banishment of his descendants (Sanh. 104a). R. Levi said that Hezekiah's words, "and I have done what is good in thy eyes" (II Kings xx. 3), refer to his concealing a book of healing. According to the Talmudists, Hezekiah did six things, of which three agreed with the dicta of the Rabbis and three disagreed therewith (Pes. iv., end). The first three were these: (1) he concealed the book of healing because people, instead of praying to God, relied on medical prescriptions; (2) he broke in pieces the brazen serpent, above); and (3) he dragged his father's remains on a pallet, instead of giving them kingly burial. The second three were: (1) stopping the water of Gihon; (2) cutting the gold from the doors of the Temple; and (3) celebrating the Passover in the second month (Ber. 10b; comp. Ab. R. N. ii., ed. Schechter, p. 11).

• 21 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hephzibah.
• 2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen,

whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

• 3 For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
• 4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my
• 5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
• 6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
• 7 And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
• 8 Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
• 9 But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.
• 10 And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,
• 11 Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:
• 12 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.
• 13 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.
• 14 And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;
• 15 Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.
• 16 Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

Gen 48:19-20

• 19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he (Manasseh) also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother (Ephraim) shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of
• 20 And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

UK and USA

• Ephraim has become UK and Great British Empire according to the blessing of Ya’akov.
• Manasseh/Menashe has become USA according to the blessing of Ya’akov.
• Manasseh/Menashe the son of King Hezekiah has made Yahweh extremely angry because of idol worship and many abominations. Yisrael was scattered and given as a prey to enemies.

Mark 9:38-41

• 38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbade him, because he followeth not us.
• 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

•        40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

• 41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his

Job’s status

• 1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that

man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God

and shunned evil. ² And seven sons and three daughters were born to him. ³ Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the East.

• 4 And his sons would go and feast in their houses, each on

his appointed day, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. ⁵ So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly.

satan’s attack

• 6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and satan also came among them. ⁷ And the LORD said to satan, “From where do you come?”
• So satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back

and forth on it.”

• 8 Then the LORD said to satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
• 9 So satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? ¹⁰ Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the ¹¹ But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”
• 12 And the LORD said to satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on

his person.”

• So satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
• God allows satan to test us to see our faith and unconditional love. Those that endure the trials and tribulations will be rewarded and blessed. The trials and tribulations clear pride and arrogance and bring repentance and They refine us as silver and gold and help us build a godly character to become like Christ. It is a lifetime process. Then only we are ready to enter the Kingdom and rule with Yeshua in the Millenium and eternity.

Job’s tragic losses

• 13 Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house; ¹⁴ and a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, ¹⁵ when

the Sabeans raided them and took them away—indeed they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”

• 16 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”
• 17 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three bands, raided the camels and took them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”
• 18 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, ¹⁹ and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”

Job 1:20-22

• 20 Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. ²¹ And he said:

•       “Naked I came from my mother’s womb,

And naked shall I return there.

The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away;

Blessed be the name of the LORD.”

• 22 In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.

Solving the conundrum of Job: a probable biblical description of chronic renal failure with neurological symptoms

Job’s disease

The disease described in the Book of Job is controversial and had been of interest of theologists, psychiatrists and dermatologists for many years. We describe several signs and symptoms compatible with chronic kidney failure with neurological alterations.

We were able to find many different symptoms which are probable

related to chronic kidney failure:

1. General signs and symptoms compatible with the clinical spectrum for chronic kidney failure described in the Book of Job:
   • Pruritus (itch): ...And he (Job) took a potsherd with which to

scrape himself... Job 2:8.

• Uremic frost:...God has cast me into the mire, and I have become like dust and ashes... Job 30:19.
• Ichthyosis (thick, hard and scaly skin):...my skin hardens... Job 7:5....I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin... Job 16:15.
• Others: ...My face is red with weeping, and on my eyelids is deep darkness... Job 16:16. ...a flood of water covers you (Job)... Job: 22:11. ...His strength (of Job) is hunger-bitten...Job 18:12.

...shuddering seizes my flesh... Job 21:6.

1. Symptoms compatible with visual hallucinations: When I say, "My bed will comfort me, my couch will ease my complaint", then thou dost scare me with dreams and terrify me with visions... Job 7:13-14;
2. Symptoms compatible with visual alterations (blindness, uremic amaurosis, hemianopsis): ...your light is darkened, so that you cannot see ... Job 22:11.

... he passes by me, and I see him not; he moves on, but I do not perceive him... Job 9:11; ...on the left hand I seek him, but I cannot behold him; I turn to the right hand, but I cannot see him... Job 23:9; ...thick darkness covers my face. Job 23:17. ...I go about blackened, but not by the sun... Job 30:28.

1. Sleep disturbances: ... When I lie down I

say, "When shall I arise?" But the night is long, and I am full of tossing till the dawn... Job 7:4.

17. Restless leg syndrome: ...The night racks my bones, and the pain that gnaws me takes no rest... Job 30:17.

13. Psychical alterations: ...for they saw that his suffering was very great. Job 2:13. ... I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest; but trouble comes... Job 3:26. ...And now my soul is poured out within me; days of affliction have taken hold of me... Job 30:16. ... My heart is in turmoil, and is never still; days of affliction come to meet .. Job 30:27. ...I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I look upon a virgin? Job 31:1. ...As for you, you whitewash with lies; worthless physicians are you all... Job 13:4.

1. Symptoms compatible with peripheral neuropathy:

• Emaciation or muscle atrophy: ...and my leanness has risen up against me ... Job 16:8. ...My bones cleave to my skin and to my flesh... Job 19:20. ... His flesh is so wasted away that it cannot be seen; and his bones which were not seen stick out... Job 33:21.

• Pain, paraesthesia or dysaesthesia: ...I would even exult in pain unsparing... Job 6:10. ...My skin turns black and falls from me, and my bones burn with heat... Job 30:30. ...Man is also chastened with pain upon his bed, and with continual strife in his bones... Job 33:19.

• Hypoaesthesia: ... my members are like a .. Job 17:7

1. Digestive symptoms:

• Vomits: ...He slashes open my kidneys, and does not spare; he pours out my gall on the ground... Job 16:13.

• Poor appetite: ...so that his life loathes bread, and his appetite dainty food... Job 33:20.

• Halitosis (uremic breath): ...I am repulsive to my wife, loathsome to the sons of my own mother... Job 19:17.

• i) Use of hyponatraemic diet: ...Can that which is tasteless be eaten without salt, or is there any taste in the slime of the purslane? My appetite refuses to touch them; they are as food that is loathsome to me ...Job 6:6-7.

Job’s repentance

Then Job answered the LORD and said:

2 “I know that You can do everything,

And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. 3 You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’

Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. 4 Listen, please, and let me speak;

You said, ‘I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’

5 “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You.

6 Therefore I abhor myself,

And repent in dust and ashes.”

Job’s restoration

7 And so it was, after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, that

the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has. ⁸ Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what

is right, as My servant Job has.”

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the

Naamathite went and did as the LORD commanded them; for

the LORD had accepted Job. ¹⁰ And the LORD restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. ¹¹ Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been his acquaintances before, came to him and ate food with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversity that

the LORD had brought upon him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and each a ring of gold.

Job’s blessings

• 12 Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female ¹³ He also had seven sons and three daughters. ¹⁴ And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the

second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-

Happuch. ¹⁵ In all the land were found no

women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

• 16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. ¹⁷ So Job died, old and full of days.

Gen 10:11

• 11 From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah, ¹² and Resen between Nineveh and Calah
• Nineveh (patron goddess, handsome, agreeable) was an ancient Assyrian city of Upper Mesopotamia, located on the outskirts of Mosul in modern-day northern It is located on the eastern bank of the Tigris River, and was the capital of the Neo-Assyrian Empire.

Yonah’s disobedience

• 1 Now the word of the LORD came to Yonah the son of Amitai, saying, ² “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” ³ But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them

to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

• 17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow Yonah. And Yonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Yonah’s prayer

• “I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He answered me.
• “Out of the belly of Sheol I cried,

And You heard my voice.

3 For You cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas,

And the floods surrounded me;

All Your billows and Your waves passed over me. 4 Then I said, ‘I have been cast out of Your sight; Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.’

5 The waters surrounded me, even to my soul; The deep closed around me;

Weeds were wrapped around my head.

6 I went down to the moorings of the mountains; The earth with its bars closed behind me forever; Yet You have brought up my life from the pit,

O LORD, my God.

• 7 “When my soul fainted within me,

I remembered the LORD;

And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple.

• 8 “Those who regard worthless idols Forsake their own Mercy.

9 But I will sacrifice to You

With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed.

Salvation is of the LORD.” Yeshua ta l’Adonai

Yonah preaches in Nineveh

• Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, ² “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.” ³ So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in ⁴ And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk.

Then he cried out and said, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!”

Belief

• 5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. ⁶ Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in

ashes. ⁷ And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying,

• Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. ⁸ But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. ⁹ Who can

tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger,

so that we may not perish?

• 10 Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.

• But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. ² So he prayed to the LORD, and said, “Ah, LORD, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing

harm. ³ Therefore now, O LORD, please take my life from me,

for it is better for me to die than to live!”

• 4 Then the LORD said, “Is it right for you to be angry?”
• 5 So Jonah went out of the city and sat on the east side of the There he made himself a shelter and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city.

• 6 And the LORD God prepared a plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be shade for his head to deliver him from his So Jonah was very grateful for the plant. ⁷ But as morning dawned the next day God prepared a worm, and it so damaged the plant that it withered. ⁸ And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah’s head, so that he grew faint. • 9 Then God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”
• And he said, “It is right for me to be angry, even to death!”
• 10 But the LORD said, “You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night. ¹¹ And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left—and much livestock?”

is knowledge, it will vanish away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part. ¹⁰ But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will

cover a multitude of sins.”

 

• 7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. ⁸ He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. ⁹ In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our

sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought

to love one another.

• 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ ⁴⁴ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, ⁴⁵ that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the

unjust. ⁴⁶ For if you love those who love you, what reward

have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the

same? ⁴⁷ And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? ⁴⁸ Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

• 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their
• 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

God’s healing is possible only according to His divine plan and perfect will in His perfect time and infinite wisdom through the BLOOD of Yeshua when the person out of free choice surrenders to the above through faith, confession, repentance, baptism, guidance by the Holy Spirit, forgiveness, deliverance, anointing, prayer, fasting, reading the Word,

obedience, using his gifts and talents for God’s glory,

submitting the soul to the spirit, carrying his cross daily, rejoicing in trials, sharing the gospel, continuous renewal of the mind, controlling his tongue/words, having no worldly attachments, thinking, talking and acting with UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
